SludgeXtract™: High-efficiency extraction solutions for oilfield residues like OBM sludge and tank bottoms. Modular, on-site deployable, and aligned with carbon compliance strategies for operators in the oil and gas sector.
Together, these platforms reflect BPS’s commitment to circular economy goals, commercial viability, and precision execution.
Used Lubricant and Cooking Oils
Developed by a team with over 90 years of collective experience in the oil and gas industry, the BPS system represents a new era in sustainable distillation.
Compact and modular, the facility is designed to be deployed where it's needed most—harbours, farms, industrial zones, or behind secured perimeters—as long as there's access for 40ft container delivery. This flexibility allows operations to be positioned closer to feedstock, reducing logistics costs and boosting efficiency.
Our re-refining process is built on BPS’s deep expertise in treating hydrocarbon waste, including:
Spent oils from trucks, cars, agricultural and construction machinery
Heavily contaminated slops and sludges from the marine sector
Industrial lubricants and off-spec fuels from drilling and processing sites
Tailored modules for used cooking oils, fats, and food-grade waste streams
Whether fossil or bio-based, our platform turns residual waste into premium base oil products—safely, cleanly, and locally. All gases produced during processing are captured, treated, and cleaned to meet or exceed international environmental standards, ensuring full compliance and minimal environmental impact.
Our re-refining process produces a range of high-value by-products, including bitumen and other hydrocarbons. Notably, our lithium/calcium-based grease is renowned for its superior quality and is considered some of the best in the world. This exceptional grease, along with our other high-value by-products, underscores the excellence of our re-refining process.
More than Oils
The BPS Grease Processing Unit can be designed to output all leading industrial grease categories, supplying, pharmaceutical, marine, mining, drilling, and heavy industrial locations. Lithium and calcium greases are compatible with each other and other standard lubricants, while calcium sulfonate greases are incompatible with bentonite clay, polyurea-based, and calcium complex greases. Calcium sulfonate grease outperforms lithium grease in oxidation resistance, dropping point, and mechanical stability. Over-based Calcium Sulfonate provides exceptional corrosion protection and serves as an emulsifier, rust inhibitor, and thickener. BPS can modify calcium sulfonate additives for diesel, marine, metalworking, automotive, military, defence, and railroad lubrication needs.
Bitumen as a By-Product
In addition to high-end base oils, the BPS process also yields bitumen-grade residues—a valuable by-product suitable for road construction and waterproofing applications.
By recovering and conditioning heavy-end fractions from re-refined waste oils, we’re able to supply material for:
Asphalt production and cold-mix binders
Bitumen emulsions for sealing and surface treatments
Industrial-grade membranes used in roofing and waterproofing
This not only reduces waste but creates an additional revenue stream from what would otherwise be discarded. As with our other outputs, quality and compliance remain paramount ensuring our bitumen derivatives meet recognized infrastructure and industrial standards.
Swift Payback ROI
At BPS, sustainability isn’t just good for the planet—it’s good business. Our re-refining model delivers exceptional resource recovery at a fraction of the cost of virgin or Palm oil production, turning high-contaminant waste streams into high-margin, in-demand base oils.
With low operational overhead, modular deployment, and proximity to feedstock, the system is engineered for strong returns from day one. Whether you're a waste manager, industrial operator, or investor, the maths speaks for itself: clean tech can still pay dirty-well.
Who should work with us?
If your business generates oil-based waste-or you see value in transforming waste into high-value products-we should be talking.
BPS is the right partner for:
Industrial operators in transport, construction, agriculture, or logistics who want a sustainable solution for spent oils
Local authorities and governments aiming to meet zero-waste targets and create green jobs
Pharma sector requiring sustainably refined oils, glycerine, and creams, either for use as premium-grade raw materials or within pharmaceutical-grade manufacturing plants."
Food industry seeking high-purity glycerine, base oils and grease for machinery and raw materials.
Waste management companies looking to reduce disposal costs and unlock new revenue streams
Investors and ESG funds backing clean technologies with built-in profitability
Whether you're dealing with the waste… or ready to buy the solution, we're here to help you do both better.
Compliance is our Foundation
Environmental Standards & Compliance: There are statutory certifications necessary for refining lube and cooking oils around the world. BPS manufactures to all of the necessary standards including waste water and gas treatment.
1. Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005: These regulations govern the management and disposal of hazardous waste, including used oils
2, The Control of Pollution (Oil Storage) (England) Regulations 2001: These regulations set standards for the storage of oil to prevent pollution
3. Environmental Protection Act 1990: This act provides the framework for waste management and control of emissions into the environment
Voluntary UK Certifications for Staff: These certifications are industry-recognized and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, but they are not mandated by law in most countries:
4. Certificate of Lubricant Competence: This certification, provided by the UK Lubricants Association (UKLA), covers the fundamentals of exploration, manufacture, and formulation of lubricants and greases, with a particular emphasis on health, safety, and environmental issues
5. ICML Lubrication Course: This course offers various levels of lubrication training, including foundational skills and ICML qualifications, which are essential for ensuring operational excellence and compliance with health and safety standards
Some countries have different regulations, so you will need to determine your specific needs. For example, in the USA, relevant organizations include the American Society of Testing Materials (ASTM), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American Petroleum Institute (API), and Tubular Exchanger Manufacturer's Association (TEMA)
We advise our customers to determine what License and Certifications are required in your country but all are accessible on the internet.

By shipping in standard 40ft containers, our systems bypass traditional infrastructure bottlenecks. Installation is fast, scalable, and customisable—allowing clients to match capacity with market demand and local feedstock availability.
We support:
Export-ready configurations with flexible licensing or partnership models
On-site commissioning and training delivered by our international deployment team
Full remote diagnostics and performance monitoring from BPS HQ
Adaptation to regional compliance frameworks and utilities
We also tailor additive formulations specific to your raw material stream—provided it meets international baseline standards—ensuring optimal results in both re-refining and downstream blending. This customisation allows our clients to maximise output quality, no matter where in the world they're operating.
